What is Liberate Pro?

Liberate Pro is a digital educational platform for health care professionals to maximise the impact of their consultations in primary and secondary care.

Clinicians are able to easily modify and share written visual content with patients before, during and after their consultation improving patient information retention and understanding.

• How it works

Liberate Pro uses disease specific content aligned to NICE guidelines to assist healthcare professionals communicate easily and quickly with their patients explaining clearly their condition, any diagnostic tests, treatment plans and self-management.

Content is shared via a simple link to a secure patient portal. The patient or caregiver can then review and digest the information at any time. The platform allows healthcare professionals to annotate content with specific and personalised instructions for the patient.

The problems we solve

• Better Patient Education

Patients don’t always retain all the information shared by their healthcare professional. 40-80% of medical information provided by the GP is forgotten immediately (1). In some disease conditions more than 40% of patients are at risk of misunderstanding, forgetting or ignoring healthcare advice (2).

When patients are given shocking or distressing diagnosis, often they forget their treatment options and care plan explained by their healthcare professional. This is sometimes called ‘emotional or psychological amnesia’ or ‘diagnostic amnesia’.

Liberate Pro enables clinicians to record their consultations so that patients can listen to them again to better understand their condition and treatment plan. Patients can access their consultation through the Liberate Pro app anytime anywhere resulting in better understanding and adherence and ultimately better health outcomes for all.

Patients with higher levels of health literacy have 14% higher treatment and medication adherence compared to those with low health literacy (3).
